Série "Something Black in Slumberland" - 2021
Série de quatre objets en trois dimensions. les textes gravés sont tirés des dialogues de la bande dessinée "Little Nemo" publiée dans le "New-York Herald".
Le critère principal de sélection de ces textes était leur ambiguïté.
Nemo, c'est l'enfance encore entière du début du XXe siècle. Une enfance bien moins essentialisée qu'aujourd'hui, une enfance encore brute, pleine d'adultes miniatures. La "chose noire" c'est l'angle mort de l'enfance . L'enfance brute et brutalisée n'est pas un rêve bleu et rose, c'est un souvenir grisâtre et douloureux.
Series of four three-dimensional objects. The engraved texts are taken from the dialogues of the comic "Little Nemo" published in "The New-York Herald".
The main criterion for selecting this texts was their ambiguity.
Nemo, it's the childhood of the beginning of the 20th century.
A childhood much less essentialized than today, a childhood still raw, full of miniature adults. The "black thing" is the blind spot of childhood. The raw and brutalized childhood is not a blue and pink dream, it is a grey and painful memory.

Elle veille sur son monstrueux enfant-larve. Pourvu qu’elle ne vienne pas ici, qu’elle ne sorte pas de nos rêves, car elle n’a rien trouvé de mieux que de le baptiser Nemo le Sacrifié. Rien à voir avec le petit homme de la bande dessinée. On dirait que tout se mélange, se transforme. On dirait que ce qu'on voit n'est jamais ce qu'on croit voir. Cet enfant de papier est entre autre illusion un lémure mémoriel.
She watches over her monstrous larvae child. Let's hope she doesn't come here, let's hope she doesn't get out of our dreams, because she found nothing better than to name him Nemo the Sacrificed. Nothing to do with the little man in the comic strip. It seems that everything is mixed up, transformed. It seems that what we see is never what we think we see. This paper child is, among other illusion, a memory lemures.
